Summer Tasks 2024
Rough Guide to Task Difficulty
Easy: Light work such as pruning, planting, weeding, not much walking, mostly flat terrain.
Medium: Digging, sawing branches, some wheel barrowing, could be working on hillsides or uneven terrain.
Hard: Heavy digging, tree felling, barrowing heavy materials, could be hilly or muddy terrain.
Saturday/Sunday 27/28th July 2024 – Anderton Centre, New Road, Chorley PR6 9HG
Task: Residential Weekend. The summer resi is here again, (click this link to see the last resi) this year we’ll be drystone walling and bashing balsam. Limited placed so book early. Alternatively just do one of the days, Saturday is usually best as on Sunday we tend to finish at lunch time. Contact Rick or Tom for a place, rooms and bedding provided but you’ll need to bring duvet and pillow covers, task clothes, normal clothes, waterproofs, wellies/boots. Those staying over night for Saturday’s task will need to be on site on Friday Evening. More information closer to time.

Thursday 8th August 2024 – Moses Gate Country Park, Bolton BL2 7QS
Task: Balsam and vegetation clearance around the fruit trees. Tip-toe through the orchard, removing our favourite invasive species and giving the heritage variety fruit trees a tidy up.

Task: BCV went to mow, went to mow a meadow. Yes we’ll be giving the meadow its annual short back and sides to improve the site for wildflowers.

Task: One of the best wildflower meadows we have will be given a crew cut improve the site for wildflowers.
